NATEX has gathered experience in supercritical fluid extraction technology since about 25 years, predominantly in process development, plant design and the operation of CO2-extraction plants. NATEX was founded in 1993 by former key employees of the process technology division of Schoeller-Bleckmann together with INNOWELD - a well-recognized equipment manufacturer. Due to the extraordinary efforts of the founders, successfully performed development, several granted patents and experience gained since 1980. NATEX nowadays is well established as a specialist in supercritical fluid extraction technology. The accumulated knowhow and the pilot plant facilities owned by NATEX will substantially contribute to the project.

The strength of NATEX in dense gas technology combined with INNOWELD's experience in manufacturing of high pressure apparatus and fittings allows to offer the clients a "one stop shop" covering process development for new applications of CO2 processes, scale-up and design of industrial plants as well as manufacturing of main components, erection and start-up.

Role within the project

NATEX will lead WP6 downstream processing and will investigate algae biomass from A4F in its liquid extraction and supercritical fluid technology. In the lab a 200 ml/1000 bar SFE bench scale unit, a 5 l/1000 bar research/development SFE plant, a 80 l/550 bar pilot extraction plant, a thin-film extraction facility, liquid-liquid extraction column, a vacuum distillation plant and further equipment for pre- and after-treatment of materials are available.
