MAHLE InnoWa GmbH

Matthias Herb

MAHLE InnoWa GmbH is a specialist in the development and application of membrane technologies in various application fields. Through our own production of capillary membranes for micro- and ultrafiltration that are built into module housing with filter areas ranging from 0.1 m² to 60 m², a variety of applications can be covered.

In the InnoWaMembrane section manufacturers of filter systems can find a large selection of hollow fibre membranes with different dimensions and cut-offs as well as available module housings. In the InnoWaWaters section point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) systems for water filtration can be found. InnoWaFood shows all available systems and modules for the crossflow-filtration of wine and fruit juice, while the InnoWaEngineering section shows the possibilities of customer specific filter system design and describes our in-house research and development facility. We produce and engineer hollow fibre membranes for micro- and ultrafiltration. In 2012 we have rebranded to MAHLE InnoWa GmbH.

Due to our in–house RDT, we react flexibly to customer requirements, from single-use filter elements in the life science industry to large cross-flow modules for the product and water filtration. In addition, we offer contract research projects in the modification of capillary and flat sheet membranes based on customer-specific conditions. Our latest project: The development of a fabric-reinforced flat sheet membrane for biological wastewater treatment.

The MAHLE InnoWa belongs to the MAHLE Group. MAHLE is one of the 30 largest companies in the automotive supply industry worldwide. With its two business units Engine Systems and Components and Filtration and Engine Peripherals, MAHLE ranks among the top three systems suppliers worldwide for piston systems, cylinder components, as well as valve train, air management, and liquid management systems. The Industry business unit bundles the MAHLE Group's industrial activities. These include the areas of large engines, industrial filtration, as well as cooling and air-conditioning systems. The Aftermarket business unit serves the independent spare parts market with MAHLE products in OE quality. In 2011, MAHLE sales of approximately EUR 6 billion; more than 49,000 employees work at over 100 production plants and eight research and development centres.

Role within the project
